A Golden Age 9-holer in the Catskills

For nearly 100 years, Sullivan County Golf Club’s fairways have carried golfers over and across the hillsides of Liberty, New York. Just around the corner from the once legendary Grossinger’s Resort and not far from the fields that hosted Woodstock, Sullivan County GC has seen a lot of history—including a transatlantic flight to Denmark that departed from its 8th fairway in 1931. Designed by Maurice McCarthy and Len Rayner (longtime pro and superintendent at Leatherstocking), it was the highest course in the state of New York when it opened in 1925.

The Sullivan County Golf Club underwent an extensive restoration in 2024, and now offers a new routing by Craig & Coyne Design, including two new par-threes with stunning views, and a new par-five with a dramatic mountain reveal. Also new for the 2025 season: New cart fleet, new putting course, new driving range, new cart paths, and new pro shop!

Our pro shop offers refreshments and beer, and guests are welcome to enjoy our new patio and outdoor bar as they play the new putting course, and some of the best dining in the Catskills awaits inside the newly renovated clubhouse at Piccolo Paese. At just 2 hours from downtown Manhattan and 3 hours from Philadelphia, we encourage you to spend a weekend in this corner of New York by booking rooms at any one of these nearby properties.

We hope you’ll consider visiting Sullivan County Golf Club soon. Our goal is to offer a quality, affordable, unpretentious golf experience. We’d love to have you as a member, and you can join today by clicking here.
